Ethnic ambiance

The challenge for our lighting design team was to work with an already constructed space that had several unwanted light points scattered throughout. However, we were able to work with the client and architect to reduce the number of lights and discreetly locate them for maximum visual comfort. We also designed custom fittings above the dining tables which not only reveal the beautiful wooden ceiling, but also act as accent lighting for the tables and sculptural niches.
The approach to the outdoor stone pavilions was to use buried lights that subtly accentuated the building, while low height glowing bollards were used along the green alleyway to guide clients while keeping focus on the illuminated architectural elements. Overall, our design succeeded in achieving the client’s desired ethnic look for their restaurant while also creating a comfortable and visually appealing atmosphere.
